After moving home to Wilmington in 1981, Phil founded Christmas Construction Co. specializing in interior carpentry. In 1987 Phil earned and received his Residential General Contractor’s License and became a member of the Wilmington-Cape Fear Home Builder’s Association. His first spec home was completed in the “Tibby’s Branch” neighborhood within the Porters Neck area of Wilmington. Since then, Phil has continued building residential homes, doing remodeling and repair work, interior trim and carpentry, commercial up-fits, and has also obtained his Commercial Building License. He is currently building new homes and is a licensed N.C. Real Estate Broker/REALTOR. Phil has been married for 32 years, has two sons and a daughter-in-law. For years, Phil acted as Assistant Troop Leader (Woodbadge Trained) with the Boy Scouts of America and is proud to say that both of his sons achieved the highest Eagle Scout Award. He is a member of the Cape Fear Blue Water Fishing Club and attends Port City Community Church with his family.
