Meet Wilmington NC REALTOR®

Amy Hammond Lusk

Hello and thank you for taking the time to read a little about me. I obtained my real estate license in 2008 and throughout that time I have had the opportunity to work with a myriad of home buyers, sellers and investors across the real estate spectrum.

Upon graduating from Towson University with a degree in Communications, I worked as a marketing director for a non-profit organization and also for the largest entertainment-marketing firm in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Having lived in several big cities across the country, I settled into the amazing Wilmington coastal lifestyle permanently in 2010. Utilizing my marketing proficiency to the benefit of all my clients means cultivating creative tactics that will get the deal closed.

I take pride in not only meeting my client's customer service expectations, but also far exceeding them. My approach to real estate is that I am not only your Realtor, but a trusted advisor.

Past clients have benefitted from my real estate and market knowledge; and could always count on my expertise on local attractions, restaurants, shopping, events and even home decorating. One of the best gifts I receive from this job is when clients turn into friends.

In my spare time I try to stay as active as possible in event planning for annual events around town that benefit such charitable organizations as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and just about any rescue dog organization that I can find. I married my husband in 2018 and we have two “pup” children that are both rescues.

I am a total foodie, so when I am not at home cooking I adore having a delicious dinner out at a local restaurant; particularly in the Historic District downtown. My love of everything film has made way for me to do work as a featured extra and stand in for the local Wilmington area film industry on several projects.

I also enjoy going to our beautiful area beaches, yoga, running, working out my favorite local boot camp and traveling to just about anywhere when time allows. You will find me rooting for my Carolina Panthers and my beloved North Carolina Tar Heels throughout the football and basketball seasons.

I look forward to hearing from you soon, cheers!

Presented for sale is the John Harriss Howe House, a Greek Revival Style House with gabled-ell addition designed circa 1870 by renowned architect John Harriss Howe and offers a remarkable renovation meticulously executed by the current owners between 2010 and 2011. Restoration was done with a commitment to adhering to the highest standards of the Historic Wilmington Foundation and winning their 2011 Preservation Award for Restoration & Rehabilitation. The home is located on a coveted ¼ acre lot with private driveway, resting on a majestic tree lined street in the heart of the Historic District. Upon entering the home through the grand front double doors your eyes are captivated by gleaming heart pine flooring, soaring 11 foot ceilings throughout, and sunlight pouring in from the expansive windows in every room and transoms over the doorways. You will be immediately drawn to the sizable living room featuring just one of the three decorative fireplaces in the home. The formal dining room is just through French doors and offers an abundance of entertaining possibilities. Across the hall is a spacious guest suite featuring a light infused sunroom. Your primary suite boasts its own fireplace and a gorgeous en suite bath with fully tiled shower. Picture yourself retiring at the end of the day on the screened back porch overlooking a manicured backyard complete with detached workshop that has the potential to become a one car garage. No detail was spared in the complete renovation including features such as the hand turned metal roof, dentate capitals on the front porch pillars, picture molding, and most original hardware throughout. Historical features include a carriage stone along 3rd Street, summer kitchen foundation in the backyard, and ballast stones from tall ships around the workshop foundation. Conveniently located just moments to the Cape Fear Riverfront, restaurants, art galleries, shopping, and all that Downtown Wilmington has to offer.
