In Atlanta, in 2000, I found my passion moving from retail management to real estate, first representing Wieland Realty in upscale new home communities. In 2004, we made Wilmington our permanent home.
For background, I’m a native of West Virginia, descended from a long line of mountaineers. I grew up in Charleston, in the Kanawah River Valley, where we lived over a Kroger store. My playground (only a block from home) was the lush lawn of the WV capitol and my play house the marble rotunda under the gold dome. My mother worked there and I wondered the halls and dreamed big. We walked to school and bus service took us anywhere too far to go on foot. I've always felt perfectly prepared to live in New York City.
In my teens, our family relocated to Raleigh and I began my love affair with eastern NC and the mighty Atlantic Ocean. On a late fall day, I first saw ocean waves crashing on Topsail Island and, today, live fifteen minutes from the same sandy spot. Although the mountains are in my heart, I’m a flatlander now!
My husband, John, is from Morehead City, NC (also on the coast) but we met in Raleigh. To get here, we lived in Rochester, New York for eleven years - long enough in "the other NY" to consider it home too. We loved everything but the gray days of a "lake effect" climate and a 100 plus inches of annual snow. We also loved living on the Jersey shore and in Atlanta before finding our way back to the NC shore.
For fun, I love gardening! If I do my part, nature will do the rest!!
