Porter’s Neck Plantation is a wonderful private golf community located right in between Wilmington’s Odgen Area and Hampstead North Carolina. It is only a short drive to the pristine Figure Eight Island beaches, Surf City as well as Wrightsville Beach. Porter’s Neck Plantation offers many great homes on nicely situated lots, some with beautiful water frontage on the Intracoastal Waterway. Where to Retire Magazine has voted Porter’s Neck Plantation on of the top 100 best communities in the United States. This community has many great social events going on at their Country Club such as Hawaiian Luaus, dinner dances, and classical music concerts to name a few, not to mention a wonderful restaurant where you can dine on those nights you don’t want to look at your kitchen. Also there is a community boat ramp to drop your boat in for access to the Intracoastal Waterway with a great little picnic area. Porter’s Neck Plantation offers new and existing homes starting around $500,000. These homes offer all the plush upgrades such as bright beautiful sunrooms, solid oak hardwood floors, granite countertops in the kitchen with Island cooktops, stately stamped concrete driveways with most homes overlooking the golf course. As if you didn’t have enough going on with your own community to keep you occupied, you are only a few miles from the Popular Grove Plantation, a wonderful spot with many great activities going on year round. One of my favorite points to the Plantation is their Farmers Market. I go to Porter's Neck just about every Wednesday in the summer because they have the best Farmers Market around. I love to cook and pick out fresh local produce. Some vendors also offer, fresh eggs, grass fed meats, local honey, fresh herbs, jams and jellies and much more. Another local favorite happening at the Popular Grove Plantation is the Vintage Car Show they host every July, this year the show takes place on July 9th from 9am to 4pm. There will be over 180 vintage cars and trucks in the show as well as a display of antique tractors and garden tools 1975 and older. There is a great selection of food vendors with a breezy shaded picnic area to cool off. These are all great reasons to pay close attention the homes in Porter’s Neck Plantation.
